Software Developer Analyst (Java)

Location: Woodlawn, MD
ANALYTICA is seeking a Software Developer Analyst (Java) to support a federal healthcare client in Woodlawn, MD.  The Software Developer will focus on Medicare and Medicaid fraud protection for federal, state, and local government clients.
This role is crucial to the success of the team. The successful job candidate must have excellent communication skills and be a detail-oriented self-starter. Will be required to coordinate with internal and external support teams and is skilled at managing databases from design to implementation. This person will be an individual contributor but will work well within and across teams to accomplish his/her tasks.

Basic Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 9 years of development experience with the Java and J2EE technology stack including the persistence, business, and visualization tiers.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, implement, and debug Java/J2EE applications web-based applications.
  • Experience with Frameworks like Spring, Hibernate
  • Experience in developing, performance tuning and optimization of RESTFul webservices for operational and production environment.
  • Experience in development within the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
  • Knowledge of JSON, XML data format.
  • Excellent understanding of Web development and Java development best practices.
  • Solid experience in writing SQL queries
  • Experience with Linux OS, and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge in all phases of the development cycle including concept, technical design, prototype, code development, testing, release to QA and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment
  • Able to follow configuration and change management policies and procedures in maintaining software.
  • Experienced in working with open-source and COTS software in test and production environments.
  • Strong communication, written and verbal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Java Spark and Map/Reduce API
  • Knowledge of GIT repository
  • Development, design and production support experience
  • Ability to contribute to design and architecture discussions
  • Experience in creating design/technical documentation
