Senior Data Wrangler / Data Engineer

Location: Washington, DC
Analytica is seeking a Senior Data Wrangler / Data Engineer to be a part of a new Government team to help establish a person-centric data matching standard.  The candidate will create data standards to clean, manipulate, merge, integrate, and match new disperse data sources to existing data sets.  The candidate will lead efforts with other data teams to finalize data sets for use in a new dashboard tool to visualize the resulting data sets.  

The ideal candidate should have a strong passion in data manipulation, cleaning, and matching of data.  The candidate should have experience in establishing and documenting new data matching standards and working with Government stakeholders to refine such standards.   Further, the ideal candidate should have experience working with dashboard developers to visualize the data as required by Government stakeholders.

This position will sit in Washington, DC.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Clean, manipulate, merge, integrate and match person-centric data from various flat file sources (CSV, Excel, Access, etc)
  • Apply and enforce best practices for extracting, transforming and integrating various data sources
  • Manipulate and match data efficiently in SAS/R
  • Ability to create and modify SAS procedures
  • Store and organize data efficiently locally and remotely
  • Develop data structure design, crosswalk, and architecture documentation for the technical, management and executive teams
  • Coordinate with Government stakeholders and teams on data standard refinements
  • Hands on experience on Python and R scripting, and SQL
  • Hands on experience in SAS desktop and server
  • 3-5 years hands on experience in data cleaning and data quality
  • 3-5 years hands on experience in data manipulation and matching; preferability related to person-centric data and/or entity resolution
  • Ability to work independently and with multiple teams
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to receive DHS suitability
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, a creative and methodical thinker
  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred
Additional Preferences:
  • Demonstrated knowledge in machine learning and data mining to help identify additional opportunities for the Government in support of their mission
  • Worked with data visualization tools such QlikQ and Tableau
