Senior Mainframe Programmer

Analytica is seeking a Senior Mainframe Programmer  to support a federal government client in Washington, DC.   

Responsibilities include (But Are Not Necessarily Limited To):

• Converting Assembly language to Java 
• Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure that they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct
• Write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as storing or retrieving data
• Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs, using workflow chart and diagram and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic
• Perform or direct revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements
• Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes
• Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required; an additional four (4) years of related work experience can substitute for a degree
• At least eight (8) years of relevant experience required
• Experience with IBM ALC programming language in a Z/OS environment
• Experience with IBM Job Control Language (JCL)
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interface with all levels of management
• Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance
• Experience with TSO, File Manager, ISPF, Endevor, and IBM utilities including De-Bug; Experience with IRS Corporate Systems
• Experienced JAVA Developer 
• Understanding masterfile data and some programming skills (SAS, SQL, etc).  
• Java Applets 
• Object -Oriented Design (OOD)
