Statistical Developer

Analytica is seeking a Statistical Developer to support a federal government customer in WashingtonDC.The position will apply statistical programming, statistical visualization techniques, modeling, and forecasting skills to analyze Federal Financial use cases. The ideal candidate will enjoy engaging with stakeholders, learning their business problems, providing technical guidance, evangelizing the team’s data science capabilities.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to): 
  • Applying quantitative methods to develop a person-centric matching method/protocol;
  • Designing and implementing improvements to the data processing code;
  • Constructing, cleaning, and documenting datasets (preferably in SAS, R, and/or Python);
  • Creating internal reports regarding person-centric matching methods/protocols (preferably in SAS, R, Python and/or Microsoft Excel);
  • Programming in statistical software (preferably SAS) from programming specifications;
  • Conducting research on disclosure avoidance research and assessing the pros and cons of the various disclosure avoidance techniques/methods and/or software available;
  • Understanding business requirements so that they may be accurately translated in system requirements;
  • Understanding the design of simple information systems so that functional issues may be understood, and business requirements can be properly defined for software development;
  • Conducting trade-off analysis on business and technical requirements;
  • Assisting in the development of procedures, manuals and other documentation for complex information systems; and
  • Developing, editing, and copy-editing products and writing reports
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar area
  • Five (5)+ years in SAS development or a related quantitative field
  • Proficiency with SAS/BASE (Data step programming) and SAS/SQL or other relational database
  • High Degree of experience with coding in R, Python, and/or SAS
  • Experience with a distributed enterprise Business Intelligence platform such a SAS, Tableau, or Qlik
  • Experience with development of predictive analytics models
  • Experience working in an Agile project management environment
  • Must be a US citizen and must be able to maintain a Public trust security clearance
